Benevolence Fund Policy

The Benevolence Policy is not intended to be cumbersome or to impair the discretion of the clergy in carrying out the work of ministry. Rather, it is intended to protect both churches of the Diocese and the clergy in the face of increasing scrutiny. Ignorance or omission in regard to handling funds is no excuse, and can be costly to all involved.

Below is an excerpt about the Benevolence Fund Policy presented at the Diocese treasurer training event on August 28, 2021. View the presentation notes here in PDF. (video coming soon)

For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you clothed me, I.
